12.04.2024
Last year, the Meetings industry in Poland played a key role in the country’s economic development. It has brought tangible financial and social benefits. The latest edition of the Poland Events Impact report presents numbers proving the significant contribution of this sector to the Polish economy.

According to the report “Poland Events Impact 2023 – the economic impact of the Events industry on Poland’s economy “, the total contribution of this industry to the economy exceeded PLN 54.6 billion. This accounted for about 1% of the country’s GDP. The gross added value generated by the Meetings industry was particularly impressive, exceeding PLN 22.9 billion. The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sector also generated about 215,000 jobs.
This Meetings and Events industry has seen growth and development of the sector compared to previous years. This was despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the economic crisis. Companies and associations have returned to organizing meetings, mostly opting for an offline format. It can be seen that the Meetings industry, despite the severe impact of the pandemic, was able to recover quickly.
The numbers presented in the report do not show the full impact of the Meetings Industry on the country’s economy. They do not take into account values such as networking or knowledge transfer. These are important issues for the development of companies.
The authors of the report point out that the organization of events does not only contribute to generating revenue. It also promotes local industries and sectors and supports the transfer of knowledge and experience. Fairs, congresses and conferences are an excellent platform for promoting Polish companies. Thanks to this, it is also possible to promote products internationally and scientific and technological exchange.
