The Specialized Ships, Yachts and Boats Sector – a PAIH report
According to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s quarterly report, “The Specialized Ships, Yachts and Boats Sector” published at the end of June, the export of the Polish yacht sector is systematically increasing. In 2022, its value amounted to USD 1.172 billion, which is more than three times more than a decade ago.
The Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s (PAIH) quarterly industry reports published in English, are an important source of knowledge on the situation of 15 sectors of the Polish economy. According to the report the value of exports of the Polish yacht sector increased from USD 318 million in 2013 to USD 1.172 billion in 2022.
Poland, with 440 km of coastline, over 7,000 lakes and 631 marinas, is an ideal place for sailing enthusiasts. PAIH’s experts emphasize that Polish yachts and boats are known all over the world. They are appreciated for their high quality, excellent workmanship and great attention to detail. Thanks to this, they attract buyers of luxury goods from both European and non-European countries. Polish producers and designers from this sector , win numerous prestigious awards and distinctions in international competitions.
Between 2013 and 2022, the average growth of the sector was between 6.5% and 9.9%. The sektor consists of over 1,000 companies employing 45,000 people. In 2022, almost 25,000 boats were produced in Poland.
In the same year, the value of exports of this Polish sector amounted to USD 1.172 billion, thanks to which Poland is currently the second largest exporter of yachts in the world, after the US. 45% of boats built in our country go to foreign markets. The main export directions in 2022 were the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Norway.
