The Aerospace Sector –  a PAIH report

According to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s quarterly report “The Aerospace Sector” published at the end of June, the Polish sector of manufacturers of aviation vehicles, engines and parts for them, in terms of the number of employees and the model of cross-sectoral cooperation, is becoming an important pillar of the economy. According to PAIH’s data, in 2022 the industry employed over 47,000 specialists.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s (PAIH)quarterly industry reports published  in English are an important source of knowledge on the situation of 15 sectors of the Polish economy. According to the report  the sector of manufacturers of aviation vehicles, engines and parts is not only one of the important industries in terms of employment, but also an important example of profits generated by the cooperation of scientific and manufacturing segments.

The Agency’s analysts indicate that the strategic role of the sector may be demonstrated by, among other things,  the functioning of the Polish Space Agency POLSA. The institution has been operating continuously since 2014. The industry has also gained recognition at the European level. Poland is a member of the European Space Agency. The space sector brings together over 300 companies and research institutions. 12,000 people found employment in this sector. Analysts indicate that strong relations between representatives of the scientific and industrial segments have a great impact on the development of the industry.

Poland also has a strong aviation cluster integrating representatives of various segments of this industry. It brings together 180 entities and employs a total of 35,000 people.

The report also indicates the presence of 5 institutions supporti Theng the development of this sector. These include:  The Polish Space Agency – POLSA, Polish  The Air Navigation Services Agency, Łukasiewicz –  The Institute of Aviation, Space Research Centre and the Polish Academy of Sciences.
