The Construction Sector – a PAIH report

According to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s quarterly report “The Construction Sector” published at the end of June, the Polish construction sector is constantly growing. Last year, industry representatives recorded an almost 7% increase compared to the results for 2021.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s (PAIH) quarterly report published in English, are an important source of knowledge on the situation of 15 sectors of the Polish economy. According to the report  the value of the construction sector in Poland is constantly growing.

The estimated share of the sector in gross domestic product is about 13-14%. Last year, PAIH’s analysts recorded a 6% increase compared to the results for 2021. At the same time, they forecast that in 2027 the value of the sector may amount to € 47,145 million. Also, according to the data contained in the study, Poland is a leader in the production of window and door joinery. Since 2004, the value of exports in this segment has increased almost 12 times. In 2022, the value of exports of windows and doors  amounted to € 3.96 billion, an increase of 32% compared to the previous year.

Experts point out that the industry is an important source of employment for the economy. According to current estimates, between 6-8% of all employees in Poland  work in the construction industry, i.e. between 1.2-1.3 million people. It is worth noting that according to PAIH’s data, about 22% of the total Polish construction production is invested in new infrastructure projects. PAIH names the main institutions supporting the sector as : The Polish  Construction Cluster and the Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers.
