MABRU Marché Matinal Wholesale Market, PAIH Foreign Trade Office in Amsterdam, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Brussels and Foreign Center of the Polish Tourist Organization in Brussels together with Partners, are pleased to invite you to participate in the Polish Night at MaBru event to be held on September 29-30, 2023, as part of the Open Doors MaBru to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MaBru market.
Brussels’ Marché Matinal wholesale market has been in existence for more than a century. For decades it was held in the heart of Brussels in the Grand-Place and surrounding streets. Since 1973, with the dynamism and progress of development, Marché Matinal moved to Quai des Usines, along the canal. Today it consists of 5 covered halls with a sales area of 40,000 sqm, 1,000 sqm of cold storage, 1,600 parking spaces and 2 cafes.
In the Marché Matinal halls, more than 100 vendors offer a full range of products, including fruits and vegetables, early produce, cured meats, poultry, game, fish and shellfish, cheese and other dairy products, general groceries and consumer goods, wines and other beverages, frozen foods, flowers and plants. Known for its wide selection of products from home and abroad, the market has become a night supermarket for professionals, offering quality products with a strong emphasis on freshness.
On the night of September 29-30, 2023, the Marché Matinal market will host a festival of Polish products and regional brands from the Polish food sector. The Polish Night at MaBru will be centered around dozens of promotional booths of Polish food producers and regional products, who will present their specialties on an area of 1,000 square meters. The event will feature numerous culinary and artistic showcases promoting Polish-Belgian industry cooperation, tastings of Polish products presentations of tourist attractions. During the event, the musical accompaniment will be provided by the band Dagadana, a special molecular gastronomy show will be prepared by Jean Bos – a Belgian master of the culinary arts living in Poland, awarded the title of World’s Best Chef in 2006.
The event is aimed at more than 5,000 visitors, including – VIPs from the world of diplomacy and politics, representatives of the World Organization of Food Markets, Euro-Toques or Members of the Brussels Horeca Federation and local representatives of the HoReCa industry. For Polish entrepreneurs present at the event, it will be an excellent opportunity to establish many business relations with international food industry leaders as well as to learn about local industry trends.
Dedicated to supporting foreign expansion and promoting Polish food products and brands, the Polish Night at MaBru event also aims to build Poland’s image as a supplier of healthy, high-quality food that can successfully compete on European and global markets.
The partners of the event on the Polish side are representatives of the Dolnośląskie, Lubelskie, Łódzkie and Zachodniopomorskie Regions as well as LOT Polish Airlines and Business & Science Poland.
