Baked goods and sugar confectionery
The bakery and confectionery industries are one of the fastest growing industries in Poland in terms of exports. In the 2020 season, revenues from the export of confectionery products alone amounted to EUR 2.2 billion, and in 2021 – EUR 2.4 billion. In 2021, exports of baked goods and sugar confectionery accounted for 1.9% of Polish exports.
The main direction of confectionery exports are European Union countries, mainly Germany (547 million EUR – 23 percent of the value of confectionery exports) and France (144 million EUR – 6 percent). Among the non-EU countries, the first place is taken by Great Britain (324 million EUR – 13 percent), USA (105 million EUR – 4 percent), Russian Federation and Ukraine (82 million EUR and 74 million EUR respectively – 3 percent each).

The industry includes the following CN codes: 1701 to 1704, 1806, 1901, 1905.
These include, but are not limited to, sugars, confectionery, chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa, food preparations made from flour, groats, meal, starch or malt extract, and bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, cookies and more.
