IT and telecommunication equipment

In 2020 the value of the IT market in Poland amounted to PLN 49.2 billion, which means an increase as compared with the previous year. Forecasts indicate that at the end of 2026 it may even grow to PLN 65 billion. Forecasts also concern the growth of the telecommunications market in Poland, in 2020-2025 it is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 0.4%. The share of the Polish ICT sector in GDP fluctuates around 8% and is constantly growing, which places us in 9th place in the European Union. Poland’s main partners in this industry, in terms of the value of exported goods, are Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In 2021, exports of the industry accounted for 4.1% of Polish goods exports.

Polish IT sector has a strong and well established brand on the international arena. This is due to, among other things, increasingly complex solutions offered to clients and very high quality of staff. The pandemic has caused a wave of digital transformation of business, which encourages higher spending on IT equipment. In 2020, there was a record sale of computers on the Polish market, due to the increased popularity of remote working and learning. At the same time, the global situation makes the risk of cyber attacks grow, which increases demand for IT security applications and systems.

The industry includes the following CN codes: 8470, 8471, 8473, 8486, 8517, 8523, 8526, 8534, 8541, 8542, 9001.

These include calculating and pocket-size machines, accounting machines, automatic data-processing machines and equipment, parts and accessories, machines and apparatus for manufacturing semiconductor crystals or wafers. Also included are telephone apparatus, media for recording sound or other phenomena, radar, radio remote control apparatus, printed circuits, semiconductor components, electronic integrated circuits, optical fibers, fiber optic cables, and others.
