Aluminium and articles thereof
Poland is one of the largest producers of aluminium components for the automotive and transport industries, therefore the largest part of the market is the sector of cast aluminium production. It should be emphasised that it is almost 100% secondary aluminium. The other two important sectors of the aluminium industry are the production of flat products (sheets and strips) and long products (all kinds of aluminium profiles, wires, pipes, etc.). Trade in aluminium waste and scrap also plays a significant role. Poland’s main partners in this industry, in terms of the value of exported goods, are Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. In 2021 exports of the industry accounted for 1.2% of Polish goods exports.
Despite the decrease in the value of export from Poland in 2020, 2021, despite the continuing restrictions, brought an increase by 33.96% to €3 307.3 million. Undoubtedly, the growing aluminium prices on global markets had a great impact on this result. Over 86% of the Polish export is directed to the member states of the European Union, of which over 38% is the export to the most economically developed EU country, i.e. Germany. This means that the Polish aluminium products are of the highest quality, the supply chain is safe and the suppliers are reliable.
