Plastics and articles thereof

Despite some troubles caused by the pandemic, the Polish plastics industry has a great potential for development. Poland’s share in exports and imports of these products is in the lead, compared to other European countries. In 2020, we were the 14th exporter of plastics in the world with a share of 2%. The number of companies producing plastics in Poland is about 7.5 thousand enterprises and the number of people employed in this industry oscillates around 170 thousand people. Poland’s main partners in this industry, in terms of the value of exported goods, are Germany, France and the Czech Republic. In 2021, exports of the industry accounted for 2.8% of Polish goods exports.

Polish plastics processing places our country on the fourth position in the European Union in terms of polymer consumption after Germany, Italy and France. Leading segments of plastics usage are packing, building construction and motorization. Polish window profiles and PVC windows and doors are dominating product in EU. The volume of production and export puts us on the first place among EU countries and in the world. 90 % of export are EU countries.

These include, but are not limited to, plastic waste, offcuts, and scrap; monofilament yarn; self-adhesive plates, sheets, films, foils, tapes, belts, and other flat shapes, of plastic; plates, sheets, films, foils, tapes, and belts, of plastic; articles for the transportation or packaging of goods; and others.
