New American investment in Gliwice
In 2023, investors with American capital were the largest investors in Poland, ahead of entities from Germany and the United Kingdom. American companies investing in Poland have created nearly 335,000 jobs in our country up till 2023.

The latest American investment, is the first in Poland, and the fourth in Europe, a modern production centre by AFL in Gliwice.
The American company AFL
AFL is a global manufacturer of fibre optic network infrastructure, part of the Japanese concern Fujikura Ltd. The company has been operating on the market for over 40 years, providing advanced technological solutions for the energy, telecommunications, industrial and corporate sectors.
The company manufactures fibre optic cables, fibre optic assembly equipment, network accessories, testing and monitoring equipment, and fibre optic splicing tools. At the same time, it provides comprehensive support services for data centres, enterprises, wireless networks, and outdoor infrastructure.
AFL has manufacturing and assembly facilities in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
In Europe, the American manufacturer’s investments are located in the United Kingdom (factory and assembly plant) and Germany (factory).
AFL is synonymous with innovation and quality in the fiber optic industry, offering products and services that meet the highest technical and environmental standards.
AFL in Gliwice
The choice of this location on the map of Poland was determined by the availability of qualified staff and the favourable location of Gliwice at the intersection of the A4 and A1 motorways.

The new production centre in Gliwice started operations on 11 July 2024 at MDC² Park Gliwice, in the Gliwice subzone of the Katowice Special Economic Zone. It currently employs 125 people, and by the end of the year it is planned to increase employment to 280 employees.
The modern production plant in Gliwice, in accordance with “eco” AFL standards, is equipped with solar panels, electric vehicle charging points, “green walls”, beehives and a rainwater retention systems.
The location at the Gliwice motorway junction will enable the American company to fulfil orders more efficiently and deliver faster to AFL’s customers in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
