The Polish-Chinese Economic Forum

The Polish-Chinese Economic Forum, which took place in Shanghai, is over. The event was an important element of the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda to China. The Forum was also accompanied by an economic mission of Polish companies, which allowed for the establishment of relations between Polish and Chinese entrepreneurs.

During the opening ceremony, President Andrzej Duda emphasized how important China is for Poland. He added that the development of economic relations with the Middle Kingdom is much appreciated, and our country strives to strengthen ties based on the principles of partnership and reciprocity.

During the Forum, five cooperation agreements were signed. The documents were signed by:

  • The Polish Brotherhood of Gutenberg’s Knights – a tripartite agreement with Shanghai Printing and Publishing College (SPPC) and Exceed Techlink GmbH
  • The National Poultry Council – KRD-IG Chamber of Commerce – an agreement with CIQA China Entry and Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association
  • The Polish Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises – a tripartite agreement with China Construction Bank and PTAK Warsaw Expo
  • FASING Sino-Pol (Beijing) Mining Equipment and Tools Co., Ltd. – an agreement with Zaozhuang Mining Group Material Supply and Marketing Co., Ltd.
  • Polish Brotherhood of Gutenberg’s Knights – tripartite agreement with Shanghai Printing Association and Exceed Techlink GmbH

The participants of the Forum also had the opportunity to listen to presentations on the Polish exhibition industry, the agri-food sector and IT/ICT. The representation of PAIH’s Investment Support Department presented issues related to the investment climate in Poland, and there was also a panel discussion on Chinese investments on the Polish market.

In addition, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, as a co-host of the Forum, organized a session of B2B meetings, during which entrepreneurs from Poland held direct talks with representatives of Chinese business. There were over 400 participants in the Forum. The Polish side was represented by fifteen entities, mainly from the food, IT, construction, mining, logistics, exhibition and printing industries. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of Polish products.

The event was organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing, the Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Shanghai (CCPIT) and the Shanghai Chamber of International Trade (CCOIC).
