Production of glass fibre in Krosno was launched in 1971. In year 2004 the Glass Fibre Plant was separated from Krosno Glassworks taking the name KROSGLASS. Currently, we produce glass fibre chopped strand mats, woven roving fabrics and glass-polyester profiles. The high quality of our products is confirmed by certificates of the renown standardization institutions such as Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. We produce tailor made product for varous industries.
Company offers
– SURFACE MAT WITH EMULSION/POWDER BINDER Various lengths and gramatures
– CONSTRUCTION MAT WITH EMULSION/POWDER BINDER Various lengths and gramatures
– WOVEN ROVING FABRICS various lengths and gramatures
– GLASS POLYESTER PROFILES – various types
Our products are suitable for making laminates in automotive, marine and other industries.
Company commodity
CSM - CHOPPED STRAND MAT EMULSION/POWDER BINDER
CSM is an emulsion/powder mat made of chopped strands. It is soft and can be easily shaped in a mould and has a slow wet-out time in a non-saturated polyester resin. The product enables to remove air during the lamination process. Laminates made of this mat have good mechanical properties and an increased resistance to atmospheric conditions for a long time.
Application
CSM is used in a contact process to laminate products made of polyester resin reinforced by glass fibre.
WOVEN ROVING FABRICS
Woven roving glass fabrics made by KROSGLASS SA are produced on weaving looms mainly from direct roving. Rovings used have filament diameter from 10μm to 24μm. They are coated with chemical active vinyl-silane or metacrylosilane sizing enabling direct application of the fabrics in production of laminates (no additional operations of surface finishing off are required) and good polymer-to-glass adhesion is ensured.
GLASS POLYESTER PROFILES
Glass polyester profiles are produce by drawing method (the pultrusion process). This method may be applied to manufacturing profiles of various shapes – round bars, flat bars, angle bars and double tee bars. Profiles are manufactured by continuous impregnation of soft roving strands with resin blend, followed by profile formation, profile curing and cutting into pieces.
